Desktop Support Technician

Our Desktop Support Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, upgrading, and installing computers and related peripheral equipment.  Performs diagnostic testing to determine source of problems and makes necessary repairs.  Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are followed.  Efficiently handles installation of new systems and equipment.  Maintains detailed records including an up-to-date equipment and assets inventory. Maintains testing equipment and repair tools.  Helps ensure department services are delivered professionally and efficiently. 

Duties:

  • Provides technical assistance on hardware, software or communication issues.
  • Monitors and makes system updates/modifications for the Credit Union’s personal computing systems.
  • Sets up personal computing hardware and software according to credit union requirements.
  • Maintains personal computers and other peripherals such as printers, scanners, cameras, etc.
  • Provides assistance to both technical and non-technical staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Two-year college degree preferred in associated field and/or two-year training program or certification. Two plus years of targeted on the job experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with minimal errors.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Professionalism, courtesy and a service mind-set.
  • Effective time management and follow through skills.
  • PC/Technology proficiency. System knowledge
