2026 Scholarship Winners
At Azura Credit Union, we believe in investing in the future by supporting students who demonstrate leadership, service, academic achievement, and a commitment to making a difference. Through our annual scholarship program, we proudly award two scholarships to outstanding students pursuing higher education: the Above and Beyond Scholarship and the Educators of Tomorrow Scholarship.
This year, Azura awarded two $3,000 scholarships to help students pursue their educational goals. After reviewing applications from across the region, we are excited to introduce our 2026 scholarship recipients.
Above and Beyond Scholarship

Trace Brungardt, an Azura member from Topeka, Kansas, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Above and Beyond Scholarship. Trace is currently attending Johnson County Community College while also pursuing studies through the University of Kansas. He is majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Sports Media and hopes to build a career as a sports journalist.
“Your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one.”-Trace Brungardt
A graduate of Seaman High School, Trace stayed actively involved throughout his high school years. He competed in cross country for three years and track and field for four years while balancing academics and community service. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning the rank of Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America Troop 26 in 2023, reflecting his dedication to leadership, perseverance, and service.
Trace is also an active member of Mater Dei Parish, where he volunteers during the parish’s annual IrishFest celebration. Whether on the track, in the classroom, or serving his community, Trace consistently demonstrates the determination and character that embody the spirit of the Above and Beyond Scholarship.
Educators of Tomorrow Scholarship

Brooke Dodson of Gardner, Kansas, is the recipient of the 2026 Educators of Tomorrow Scholarship. An incoming freshman at Emporia State University, Brooke plans to major in Elementary Education and pursue her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.
Brooke recently graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School, where she distinguished herself as both a student leader and community volunteer. She was an active member of National Honor Society and Educators Rising, serving as Vice President from 2024–2025 and President from 2025–2026.
Her passion for education has already taken root through hands-on experiences in local schools. Brooke spent the school year interning at an elementary school and volunteering through Girls on the Move at Nike Elementary in Gardner. Through the program, she helped young students build confidence, navigate emotions, and stay active.
“Watching those kids grow has inspired me to pursue education as a career.”-Brooke Dodson
In addition to her leadership roles, Brooke participated in color guard and winter guard for four years and earned academic recognition throughout high school, including an academic scholarship to Emporia State University. Her dedication to serving others and inspiring young learners makes her an excellent representative of Azura’s commitment to education and community.
Congratulations to Trace and Brooke on their achievements. We are proud to support these exceptional students as they pursue their educational and career goals, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their communities and beyond.
