City of Topeka Announces Money Moves Pop-Up Sessions

TOPEKA, Kan. – The City of Topeka’s Office of Inclusive Communities (OIC), in partnership with Azura Credit Union, is proud to announce the launch of the Money Moves Pop-Up Initiative, a new community-focused program designed to help residents build a stronger understanding of personal finances.

This initiative will feature a series of informal, outdoor information sessions where neighbors can chat directly with financial experts, ask questions, and gain knowledge on topics such as budgeting, saving, credit, and financial planning. The sessions are free and open to the public.

Residents are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and join in a relaxed, accessible environment aimed at making financial education approachable for everyone.

The first session is scheduled for:

Thursday, May 28
5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Azura Credit Union Parking lot at 610 SW 10th Ave.

One block west of 10th and Topeka Blvd.

“This initiative is about meeting people where they are and providing accessible tools that can make a real difference in their daily lives,” said Monique Glaudeˊ, Director of the Office of Inclusive Communities. “Financial literacy is a critical component of long-term stability, and we’re excited to partner with Azura Credit Union to bring these resources directly into our neighborhoods.”

"Credit unions, like Azura, are operated ‘by the people, for the people.' Participation, education and accessibility are at the core of our mission and principles,” said Katie Beach, Community Relationship Manager. “Azura is thrilled to partner with the City of Topeka to offer information and resources to our neighbors.”

The Money Moves Pop-Up Initiative reflects the City of Topeka’s continued commitment to empowering residents through education, community engagement, and equitable access to resources.
